Biography:- Srinivas Ramanujan

 significant contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, and continued fractions. He is considered one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century.


Ramanujan was born in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India, on December 22, 1887, into a poor Brahmin family. Despite having no formal education in mathematics beyond high school, Ramanujan had an innate understanding and a deep interest in mathematics.


He began to develop his mathematical skills by studying textbooks and papers on his own. He made many original contributions to mathematics and rediscovered many mathematical results that were already known. In 1913, he sent a letter to the British mathematician G.H. Hardy, in which he shared some of his mathematical results. Hardy was impressed by Ramanujan's work and arranged for him to come to England to work with him.


In 1914, Ramanujan traveled to England, where he worked with Hardy and other prominent mathematicians at the University of Cambridge. He made significant contributions to the field of number theory, including the discovery of the Ramanujan prime and the Ramanujan theta function. He also made important contributions to the theory of modular forms and the partition of numbers.


Ramanujan's work was highly original and had a major impact on the field of mathematics. He was awarded a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1918, and became the first Indian to be elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1919.


Despite his many achievements, Ramanujan's health was fragile, and he died on April 26, 1920, at the age of 32. His work continues to inspire many mathematicians and researchers around the world. He is widely considered as one of the most important mathematicians of the 20th century and his contributions are still being studied and applied in various fields today.
