NEET, The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses (MBBS), dental courses (BDS) and postgraduate courses (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in the country. The examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is usually held in May of each year. Eligibility for the examination is based on the completion of 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects and having at least 50% marks in aggregate. There are also age limits for the examination, and candidates must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31st of the year of admission. The examination is divided into two parts: Physics and Chemistry and Biology. Each part consists of 45 multiple-choice questions and carries a maximum of 180 marks.
